An evening of impact and celebration, the Royal Ball brings our community together to raise essential funds and awareness for foster care in North Carolina, honoring Family Room’s work across 46 counties.
Featured Speakers
Katie Chesney is a stay at home Mom to four biological children aged 11-17. She holds a degree in Psychology and Communication Studies. She has served in various leadership roles including at Young Life, and has led various organizations and groups including Gathered for Guilford (a public school fellowship and mission/service led Christian gathering for public school Moms) and Be the Bridge (a racial justice and reconciliation group). She is married to Curtis. Together, they decided to become a foster family in 2023, though their connection to it was long before. They’ve had the privilege of welcoming many respite and emergency placements into their home, including the adorable two year old who is currently residing with the family. Katie is passionate about equity and tangibly loving those who need it most, which makes her a huge fan of Family Room! She is connected to Family Room as a donor contributing to Family Room’s mission, and volunteers.

IN her role she will foster external partnerships with the city to grow the Corridors of Opportunity program, work as a project manager with the Road to 10,000 housing initiative, and continue as a community connector for al
